These are the points brought up in our Q&A. From here, I'm assuming everyone understands the system and thus there shouldn't be any complaints.
Braenc: What is it?
DKP is an effort/reward system, short for Dragon Kill Points. In general, you get points via attendance and boss kills and loose them when you win gear. Gear distribution is based on priority so if there's competition, the gear goes to the person with the highest DKP.
For the way our system works, you may NOT pass on items since we decided to split MS/OS. We do not want people hoarding DKP or passing anything that can be a potential upgrade, which is counterproductive for guild gearing up. You have the same attendance points but MS items are deducted from MS pool and OS has it's own pool.
Also we have a special type of roll called minor upgrades. This situation occurs when gear of the same item level drops but "better" stats (for your spec). This allows you to deduct from your OS pool.
MS still has greater priority than OS. MS and minor upgrades are treated the same but this is the one time you may pass to someone else who needs it for MS.
Keep in mind you also get DKP for being benched (being online and available) during points distribution for attendance and boss kills. When we announce the boss and loot in gchat, whisper one of the raid leaders to get benched points.
Branec: What if my gear drops but I do not enough DKP?
A: You can go into minus DKP, but distribution is still based on priority if there's competition.
Cheeky: Will the DKP spreadsheets be current?
Yes, they are always updated after each DKP award. You'll see the update as soon as it updates on google servers. (Currently, 7/8, not up-to-date since I don't have data from Crokite on the BoT council kill.)
Cheeky: Do alts have a separate DKP pool?
No, currently we're counting individual players, not individual tons. All the tons of one player has the same DKP pool. Also, if we can take an alt depends on the space we have available.
Other points
We updated the points required for "weapons". You'll loose 200 for that bottom row in your character page. Before, when it was -100 for each "weapon", some classes/specs would have to spend more to get all their slots. This is to make it more fair, so "full" set costs the same for each class/spec.
Bonus point section is award for farming and randomly helping out in the guild. It isn't meant to replace raiding participation but to give some people a way to contribute to the guild and get something small in return. Numbers haven't been set yet for the farming items. That section will be updated from time-to-time. Going to website so easier to see.
There may be -DKP for tactic failure. With this, we expect if you wish to raid with us, you do your research before hand and have some prior knowledge of the raid encounter. We don't expect perfection but some basic knowledge of the raid boss mechanics (phases, abilities, etc) is what we're looking for. This is because a lot of time is now being spent to explain tactics to individuals. We will still give a quick overview so you know the tactics that <Whispered> employs and individual roles, if needed. This is also an indicator to us that you're putting in the effort for the raid.
We ended the meeting with a link to the guild website we're working on. Thanks Shammy and Branec for joining so we can address some areas of confusion. They've been sent the URL and get to play around on it first.
