DKP Guidelines

Raid Roster: Here

Updated: 1/15/11, 2/4/12

DKP is a system where you earn points and then use it to bid on gear. This encourages people to accept (the calendar invite) if he/she is geared, have researched tacts (those downed in guild achievement, Nefarian, and Ascendant Council), and will be on time. If you have questions on any of these points, contact someone in the King/Queen rank or higher.

Attendance (via Calendar Invites)
For those who are available all raid days:
Description Start Max
Accepted and on time for start and duration of invites +10 +50*
Accepted and on time for raid start +8 +40*
Accepted, late (up to 1 hr after raid start), and invited +5 +25
Accepted and not online by raid start -10 -30

Tentative and online +6 +30*
Tentative and offline/late 0 0
Accepted and not geared -20 -40*
-How to read the table: The first time you meet the description, you get attendance points equal to the start column. For each time you consecutively meet the requirement for each raid day, you get a multiple bonus that is equal the consecutive number you currently on. What this means is, on all the days we raid and you're showing up, you'll get more and more attendance points, up to the maximum. If you miss a raid day, your points will reset.
-How this works: I will use accepted and being onto for start as our example. So on raid day 1, you get +10. If raid day 2, you show up, you'll then get +20. And so on. But if you don't show raid day 2, on raid day 3, you'd start at +10 again.
-If you do not want to be penalized for missing a day, let Mayleene and Whiplass know a day before raid. You'll just repeat the amount you are on and then count up from there. So if you were on +20, then you'd get another +20 and then +30 the time after.
For those who have limited availability, usually one day only (Mayleene needs to be contacted):
Description Start Max
Accepted and on time for start and duration of invites +20 +60*
Accepted and on time for raid start +16 +48*
Accepted, late (up to 1 hr after raid start), and invited +10 +30
Accepted and not online by raid start -10 -30

Tentative and online +12 +36*
Tentative and offline/late 0 0
Accepted and not geared -20 -40*
-How to read the table: Works like the first table except the days you cannot raid will not be counted against you.
-For a no penalty gear checkup, ask someone in the Court Member rank or higher (at least 1 hour before a raid on raiding days). They will look at your gear and give you suggestions.
-If you've accepted calendar invite and not shown up three times in-a-row, you will loose all priority and will need to be accepted and punctual three times before you're allowed to get loot (unless everyone passes).

During Raid
-Per boss: +10*
-1-shot progressing bosses: (additional) +10*

 -Warrior: <1H -100, off-hand -50, ranged - 50> OR <2H -150, ranged -50> OR <2H -100, 2H -50, range -50>-Other armor: -50
-Tokens: -70
-Gear from Tot4W, BoT, BWD, and FL are now half DKP
-DS tokens win includes a loss of other MS (or OS) priority for two raid locks

Other Points of Interest
-Not prepared may result in some form of DKP loss.
-MS and OS DKP have been separated into separate pools. It'll use the same attendance/boss points but your negative points will either be considered MS or OS.
-Please use the mind set, MS > minor upgrade > OS.-If a drop is the same ilv as the item you currently have and is a minor upgrade, it'll be treated as an OS roll (roll as OS and deducted from OS pool).
-Along with the roll, link your current item for same ilv.
-You may NOT pass on any upgrades (major or minor) unless it's a minor upgrade for you and you wish to pass it to someone who benefits from it more. If you're unsure, roll, link and inform us that you're not sure which item you should take.
-You may NOT pass on any upgrades (please provide your reason in vent or raid chat if you feel it's not an upgrade) unless it's an upgrade for someone else if they don't plan on passing either. If you're unsure, roll, link and inform us that you're not sure which item you should take. Feel free to whisper me during gear distribution to contest someone's claim if you don't want to vent or raid chat it.
-You will loose 500 DKP if caught cheating (passing on upgrades, faking gear, lying about needing for MS/OS, etc). Please whisper a GM if you see this occur, as soon as possible. Second offense, you'll be demoted and banned from raiding.
-DKP is "capped" at 500. You can be above 500 DKP, but all those at or above 500 DKP on a roll will be treated as equal DKP.
-The two GMs reserve the right to the decision on any new and special circumstances, mostly those not listed.
-DKP is wiped when you leave the guild and reset when you join.
-Considering DKP resets and a who benefits more factor in loot distribution.
-Loxic/Huitzz is thinking of factors for a who benefits more from loot distribution system and Branec suggested a best in slot list (at the beginning of new raid content, each person makes and submits a best in slot list for their own toon which is used for MS rolling).
-DKP is wiped at the beginning of each month for those who did not raid the previous month.

*Points awarded/lost even if benched. Benched requires one to have accepted or tentative and be online during points being awarded. When we announce the boss and loot in gchat, whisper either raid leader to get your benched points. If you are late (past raid invite starting time) and want to claim any (benched) points, /w Thrones that you're online. If you whisper Mayleene instead, -10 points.

Public Spreadsheet (Updated as points are awarded/subtracted.)
-Feb12, Jan12,
-Dec11 DKP, Nov11 DKP, Oct11 DKP, Sept11 DKP, July11 DKP, Aug11 DKP

  1. Interesting idea, although it sounds like a lot of work for you both!

I agree with principle but you may want to consider increasing the point cost on the weapons and armour however?

    Using last night for example

    Attendance 10pts
    Boss kills 40pts
    1 shot bosses 10pts (i think)

So now 10 members (plus whoever else signed up and did not make the cut) have points 60pts from one day, enough for 1 MS armour. With boe's often quite minimual i can see there being a issue with people getting points up to quickly without the rewards available.

I think we would want to reward peeps for regually turning up instead? I would much rather see people do 5 or more raids to earn a item instead of looking at one evening run as a quick fix for the piece they want.

Also with the gathering of herbs/materials etc, can you put a list up somewhere of the herbs you need/want? Unless it is any and all!

Only my thoughts so feel free to ignore them.

    Regards

    Whip

  3. Ive been browsing the forums to see what trouble other guilds are running into with this dkp system and what solutions there might be. Imo there are a few that hurt guild progression significantly.

    - After some time core raid members have so much points that casuals and more importantly new guild members have no hope to catch up. This will prevent them from gearing up to help out when they are needed.

    - Some players will hoard points to make sure they get first pick on gear they really want and discourages everyone to loot minor upgrades.

    - When players have a lot of points they might stop showing up to raids where they dont need any loot.

A solution to these problems seems to be using a EPGP point system (effort points / gear points)which basicly means not calculating dkp score by
dkp gained - dkp spent, but rather
    dkp gained / dkp spent

This way even casual and new member can get a decent score, and makes it easy to use a decay system. Decay will encourage players to be active and spend points, and discourages hoarding.

    for more info check http://www.wowwiki.com/EPGP

there are addons that can help out too. eg

  4. For those wondering about EP/GP (cause it has the nice decay feature), we looked into an add-on for it but it messed with roster notes and we couldn't find a sort feature (to include only raiders). So we went with our own created DKP-like system. And Thrones (the other GM) who comes with us isn't in guild since he's still in friends guild. Among other reasons.

Though be warned, we'll implement some sort of decay of people start skipping. :>.

  5. If there is to be no decay system in the short term, maybe a points cap cold be put in place to prevent people hoarding points for when we progress on to firelands and the more signifcant upgrades that would provide.

  6. You cannot hoard as you are NOT allowed to pass on anything considered and upgrade.

  7. With a second Raid team starting shortly, will they be using DKP?

If DKP is to be used, will this be a seperate system? I personally would prefer a seperate DKP system for it and not combined.

    2 reasons why:

I would prefer to use my DKP points on the character that is my main (ok that may appear slightly selfish)

Secondly & more importantly it would hinder all the newer raiders that don't get a chance to raid in the first group. As they will always be behind the alts of the 1st team raiders (points wise) which in turn might remove some incentive for them to raid with us.
